Getting started with Asterholm
In a few minutes you will have all your brokers in a single portfolio. These are the five steps, in order.
Step by step
- Create your account with your email and a password, and confirm your email from the link we send you. How to create your account.
- Bring in your data. Connect your broker with a read-only key (how) or upload the statement your broker already gives you (how). You can mix both.
- Check your portfolio on the Overview: total value, what you contributed, your gain and how today is going. If a number is unclear, see what each number means.
- Set alerts so you find out without opening the app: a target price, a sharp drop or a dividend. How to create alerts.
- Explore the analysis: performance, dividends, diversification and risk and your goals.
What you will see
- The first time you sign in you will see an empty Overview with a Connect a broker button.
- While your portfolio is being calculated you will see «Calculating your portfolio…». It usually takes a few seconds and the page updates itself.
- At the top of the Overview, the Getting started list ticks itself as you go. You can hide it.
Before you create your account
You can try the demo: a read-only sample account with a ready-made portfolio. Nothing you do there is saved.
If you get stuck
In Help you have this manual, the frequently asked questions and the Contact form: a real person answers and the conversation stays in My requests.
Common problems and questions
- How long until my portfolio shows up?
- A file is processed right away. A key connection usually takes seconds; the first Interactive Brokers sync can take several minutes because it brings in your whole history.
- Can I use Asterholm on my phone?
- Yes. It works in your phone browser and you can add it to your home screen to open it like an app.
- Do I have to connect all my brokers?
- No. Start with one. How many you can keep up to date depends on your plan; see Plans.
