Rebalance your portfolio
Rebalance shows how far your portfolio drifts from your target mix and two ways to get back to it.
Step by step
- First set your target mix in the contribution plan.
- Go to Planning → Contribution plan and open the Rebalance tab.
- Set the Tolerance: how many points a part can drift before rebalancing. It also sets the drift alert.
- Under Buying only enter the amount to invest and see what to buy.
- Under Selling and buying choose the mode and check what to sell and what to buy. Click Add to my plan if it helps.
What you will see
- Today versus target: the weight of each part, the target mark and your tolerance band.
- How much you would need to invest to get within the tolerance, or right on target, buying only.
- Estimated fees and the gain you would realise by selling.
Band or exact
- Only what left the band (recommended): fixes only the parts that drifted more than your tolerance. Fewer trades, fewer fees and less tax.
- Everything exactly on target: puts every part right on its target, even if it was inside the band. More trades.
Common problems and questions
- Selling and buying has a lock.
- It depends on your plan. Buying only is on the plans with the contribution plan.
- It says everything is inside the band.
- There is no need to sell: just steer your next contributions.
